Understanding Day 1
Day 1 of the CFE is a unique, solely evaluated examination which allows candidates to demonstrate high-level professional skills. This four-hour comprehensive case forces candidates to take a diverse approach to case analysis. Critical analysis, decision-making, professional judgment and effective communication are all very important for success on the Day 1 examination. In your role, you will be faced with various strategic decisions and operational issues which necessitate a methodical approach to thoroughly analyze the decisions/issues and come to supported recommendations.
Candidates often struggle with the tools and techniques used to address the various strategic decisions and operational issues.
For this reason, PASS has created a session that will help candidates understand the components of a Day 1 examination and how to meet the four evaluation components ( 1- situational analysis; 2- analysis of the major issues; 3- conclusions and advice; and 4- communication) of a Day 1 exam.
This session will be applicable for all students writing the Day 1 case, regardless which case one is doing in May or Sept. 2024.
